No accounts
shinmuscat has no sign-up, no accounts and no newsletter. We don't collect your email address or any other personal details to let you use the tool.
What happens to the link you paste
You paste a public TikTok link into the box on the homepage. That link goes to our server, which opens the public TikTok page in a headless browser and downloads the video's own caption file. The link and the resulting transcript are handled in memory while your request runs. shinmuscat has no database, so neither the link nor the transcript is written to storage anywhere.
Your transcript history
Your 12 most recent transcripts are saved using localStorage in your own browser. They never leave your device and we never see them. Clearing your browser's site data for shinmuscat.com deletes them.
Hosting and server logs
shinmuscat is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request data, including your IP address and user agent, in its server logs.
Rate limiting
We count requests per IP address in memory to keep the tool usable for everyone. This count is not stored long term.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-Z06Q388E09) to see aggregate usage, such as how many people visit and which pages they use. It sets cookies and sends data to Google. Read Google's own policy at policies.google.com/privacy. A browser privacy setting, a tracking blocker or a private window will stop it.
Tips
Tips go through PayPal. PayPal handles the payment directly. shinmuscat never sees your card or bank details.
No selling your data
We don't sell, rent or share any data with advertisers.
