Three steps to a finished file
- 01Pick a tool
Choose View, PDF to Word, Word to PDF, Merge or Split, then open your file or drop it onto the page.
- 02Let your browser do the work
The file is read and processed on your device, so there is no upload to wait for and nothing leaves your computer or phone.
- 03Download or export
Save the result, or use Export as to get it as a PDF, a Word file, plain text, or PNG and JPG images of each page.
Free. No signup. No watermark. No ads. Nothing is uploaded: your files stay on your device.
Frequently asked
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Every tool on this page runs in your browser with JavaScript, so your files are read from your device and the results are created on your device. There is no upload step and no server that receives your documents.
Is it really free, with no signup or watermark?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark, no page limit and no paid tier, and the site shows no ads. It is a one-person project with an optional tip jar.
How good is the PDF to Word conversion?
It works best on text-heavy documents such as letters, articles and reports. The tool reads the text on each page, groups it into lines and paragraphs, treats noticeably larger text as headings, and puts each PDF page on its own Word page. It does not rebuild tables, columns, images, fonts or exact spacing, so expect to tidy the result in Word.
Why did my scanned PDF not convert to Word?
A scanned PDF is a picture of a page, with no text inside it, and this tool does not do optical character recognition (OCR). If a page has no selectable text, the tool tells you it looks scanned and leaves a placeholder instead. You can still view, merge, split or export a scanned PDF as images.
Can I convert an older .doc file to PDF?
Not directly. Word to PDF accepts .docx files only. If you have a legacy .doc, open it in Word or Google Docs, save it as .docx, and then convert it here. The converted PDF keeps selectable text, headings, lists, simple tables and images, but headers, footers, columns and custom fonts are not preserved.
What about password-protected or damaged PDFs?
The tool shows a clear message instead of failing silently. It cannot open a PDF that needs a password, so remove the password in the program that made it first. A damaged file that cannot be read will also be reported.
How do I split a PDF into pages or ranges?
Open the PDF in Split mode. You can split every page into its own file, type ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 to get one file per range, or click thumbnails to pick pages and combine them into a single new PDF. When there is more than one result, they download together as a zip.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no limit set by this site, because nothing is uploaded. The real limit is your device's memory and the browser tab. Files of a few hundred pages usually work, while very large files may be slow or fail on a phone. If a big file struggles, try splitting it first on a computer.
